I'm in the process of looking for a third guinea pig to add to my pair, Rio (girl) who is 5 1/2 and Harvey (neutered boy) who is 2 1/2. A local rescue has a couple of litters of baby pigs in at the moment and I'm waiting to get confirmation on whether there's a single girl available.
I've always had trios of pigs and have experience introducing pigs but I've heard that neutered boy and girl pairs can be quite tricky to introduce another pig into. I'm a little nervous that if i introduce a baby to them she might get hurt especially considering how dominant both my pigs are. Is there anything different I would need to do when introducing them?

I would just do the normal bonding routine, ie neutral territory, no hideys etc but maybe put a small tunnel in so baby can escape if she wants to. Usually its no problem at all introducing a baby as she will be no threat to the hierarchy and she will be desperate for adult piggy company. Good luck!
