I am going to purchase a 120 two tier cage for my pig and am wanting to get her a friend, does anyone know any places as close as possible to Sheffield that would help me as I don’t want to do it at home

Hi! It's great that you want to get a friend for your piggie. The best way is to go to a rescue where you can choose a sow that will be guaranteed healthy and not pregnant, maybe where she can meet other sows first to ensure mutual liking. You are probably more likely to find a neutered boar at a rescue, correct me if I'm wrong?

I think BARC is very near Sheffield @pig in the city ?
Though be aware with a 2-tier cage not all piggies will use the ramp and if they wont it actually takes away from your main 120 ground floor space, I bought a 2-tier cage last year and neither me nor the piggies got on with it at all, after a week we swapped to a C&C!
Some people and piggies really like the 2-tier cage but you'd need to factor in what you'd do if your new piggy didn't...

Yes we are near Sheffield but don't have any piggies for rehoming at the moment apart from a neutered boar who is reserved pending a date in the near future.... @PigglePuggle (
)However there is cavy corner in Doncaster as mentioned above, Milhaven rescue in Keighley and Dotty's guinea pig rescue in Matlock who may be able to help
