I am hoping to add one final piggy to my herd of 5, a neutered boar. I am looking for general advice on adding a boar to my girls. My girls are mostly around 2 except for Pixie who is still under a year. They are mostly pretty laid back with Milkshake being the grumpiest.
Any advice welcome

They should be fine, as they're females...as long as they know who is the dominant one:) Just introduce him slowly and keep a close eye;)

The tricky bit is whether he'll be accepted by the top girl. Is there a possibility that you could take her to boar date to see how things go?

Otherwise, I would recommend a slow intro with the boar right next door for at least a couple of days, so they can get to know each other (and your boy can get over his initial testosterone overload) and then stage intros in a neutral space - a run on the lawn would be ideal if it is warm enough.

I let Hywel meet Nia, my top sow, beforehand in order to gauge the lay of the land. I was pretty sure that Hywel would be accepted, as the girls were used to a dominant boar, but you never know how two particular piggies will hit it off.

I'm doing this just now. My neutered boar won't be ready to go in with the ladies for a few more weeks yet but I've got them in two runs next to each other. I also put them together under supervision for 5-10 min so I know he won't hump the girls.
I've found that 1 is quite happy to accept the boar but the other 2 doesn't like the attention he gives them. I'm hoping that with time, they'll mellow out and get on. I still have 3 weeks before he can live with them completely.
