Hi. I have 17 piggies. 2 x 2 boys. And one neutered lucky boy with 8 ladies.
I had two rescues that were pregnant. Before I found out one of them was pregnant I had put her with the herd. She was a bit feisty and got into some scraps (her ear got bit!) but it was ok. When I found out she was pregnant I removed her from the herd, and she had one female baby. I’d also kept the other pregnant female separate, and she had one baby girl too.
My problem is I tried putting the 2 mums and their girls together - intro in clean neutral space. Almost immediately fur ball fight so I separated.
I also tried my feisty wee mum with another lady in the herd - fur ball fight ensued. She is all sass with her humans and then all chattery with other pigs (except no fights with the daughter - yet!)
I was hoping all the girls could join the herd as I have a huge space. But how should I go about this now? Do I need to keep at least one pair of girls separate?
Appreciate your suggestions! X

How old are the babies?
There is a section at the end of this guide explains why bonding new mums is so difficult.

Equally, even if the babies are past weaning age if the sows are not compatible then a bonding will not work.

All you can is try a neutral territory introduction and if they are not compatible then they need to remain apart

That article helps, thank you. The babies are 4 and 1 weeks old. Shall I keep the mums separate fir a few more weeks?
