So, I previously posted a thread about worrying what would happen if I introduced my two elderly girls to my two young (castrated) boys, they are only introduced for play time, and have no plans to live together, they have had their first proper meet together for breakfast and it has gone very well! They are all eating, there's the odd 'trying to mount' going on, but no fights! Really pleased :) IMG_00001827_edit.webp

Please never leave them unattended, especially when your girls come into season. Things can get ugly very quickly then!

We generally do not recommend mixing more than one neutered boar with any number of sows.

No, they are never unattended, constantly watched.

I was also told that it was fine for the Socialising part, just not living together?

Definitely not living together. As to mixing during run time, you have to be aware that there can be problems once the hormones come into play.

Yeah. I thought so, they won't be all living together.

The hormones are playing their parts, but they won't be mixed whenever the girls are in season, the boys are relaxed for now, the girls are also being assertive if they come too close for comfort!
