I am adopting a pair of boars from the local animal shelter. In the process of getting all of the permissions I needed, I learned that some neighbors wanted to find a home for their boar, Boar B (about a year old). Because I knew that boars could be housed in pairs, I planned to introduce Boar A to Boar B as per the usual guidelines.
Boar A is about a year old. When I called to follow up on the adoption, the shelter gave me a surprise. I was told that Boar A's foster family had paired him with his younger grandson, Boar C. The shelter wanted to adopt them out together. After much consideration, I agreed.
I'm constructing a Cube and Coroplast cage for them, and in the event that something does not work out, they can have adjoining cages. However, does anyone have any tips for staging this introduction? I know it will be tricky. Thankfully, I don't have any sows for them to fight over... just a solo boar and a pair that's coming home in a few days.
