Insulating guinea pig cage

Hi,
I have added bubble wrap and board to the outside of my hutch, if I add felt to the back,sides ect .... Will it be warmer?

The more layers you have the harder it will be for the heat to escape!

Yes, it will be warmer and also drier. Years ago, when I first had piggies, my dad made me an amazing hutch with felted sides and it worked beautifully. He also made me a wooden shutter for the mesh part of the door (it was just a piece of plywood that was cut to size and which I fastened on with 4 of those swivel catches) - I used to close the shutter at night, so that there weren't any drafts or dampness getting in, and open it up again in the morning.

I am lucky to have a builder for my ih so we use insulation blanket and board and i put a fleece over a wooden box in the sleeping quarters which really keeps the heat in. Use a big blanket folded in four. All my piggies were fine last winter.
