Had to share this with you -

On this forum ive come across great ideas from foil insulation to polystrene boards & loft insulation - then boarded over with hardboard.

My plan A was thermafoil then boarded over with hardboard, was going to cost 45 for the foil 30 for the hardboard & 30 delivery but i wudnt be able to cut the hardboard myself, so plan B was polystrene boards but theyre so expensive

Then i got talking to my mums new bf who breeds birds :/ who also owns an 8x6 shed for his animals, who told me he'd insulated his shed really cheap with polystyrene and had some left over :)
he turned up with with 2 rolls of this -

16ft roll 7mm thick £6.98

i needed more for the roof so i went for the cheaper option

30ft roll of 'warmaline' 2mm thick £3.48
http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav.j...refview=search&ts=1286369524141&isSearch=true

Basically the pebble 6.98 stuff is 'posher' & thicker and used for house ceilings but it says on the packet that its perfect for insulation.

Stocked by b&q & my local focus also has loads of it in

Ive bought the actual 'warmaline' adhesive to do the job which is £7.98

Its designed to be painted, my mums bf used emulusion on his but I'm going to use exterior paint from wilkinsons.

You just cut it to fit and glue it, then paint it whatever colour * like :))

Its soo easy - good job really seen as my babys due next month & I'm useless with DIY.

REALLY hope this helps someone/anyone :)

Ooo thank you so much! :)) My shed's arriving soon, and the cost to insulate it was starting to get a bit pricey and I am completely useless when it comes to diy and I can stick and cut very well so this is just perfect thank you again!

I'm just wobdering how effective that would be on an outdoors wooden shed and if it would offer enough insulation? We are looking to insulate our shed but that stuff looks awfully thin?

The 7mm stuff is good stuff and does a shed lovely, the 2mm is quite thin so if * can afford it go for the 7mm all round :)
