Hello I'm a mum of one little piggy right now his name is Bulbasaur I only recently got him and his super adorable I was thinking about opening a guinea pig instagram account but I am stuck for names because eventually I wish to rescue more Guinea pig in the future and if I name the channel after Bulbasaur maybe that won't represent the real meaning of the channel maybe I'm just overthink but if there are any suggestions I will appreciate it

Welcome to the forum Is Bulbasaur your first guinea pig?

I'd wait until Bulbasaur is bonded with a new piggy friend before opening an Instagram account- that way their relationship will be more stable. There are lots of guides about how to do this on the forum.

Also, it will prevent people deciding to get a single guinea pig just because they've seen one on your Instagram account.

As a social media 'influencer' (even with a small account) you have a massive responsibility not to show harmful or dangerous care online. Please take the time to read through all the guides on the forum before posting anything.

Social media can absolutely be a force for good though- promoting rescues and dispelling myths about guinea pig care.

It would be nice if your account name included something about the journey of piggy ownership? Or how it feels to be a guardian of guinea pigs? Or maybe if you choose to name all your piggies after dinosaurs, you could have an account name such as DinoPigs or PrehistoricPiggies?

Please prioritise getting Bulbasaur a friend- guinea pigs rely on companionship of their own species for happiness.
