So I recently discovered that my guinea pig has one of his toes on his front paw injured. I had to leave him at the care of a family member because I needed to go out of town and then when I came back I was sick. Therefore, i havent been super present lately. I was aware his nails need some trimming, so when I was going to trim them, I saw this. It doesn't appear to hurt him when I touch it nor has it affected his behavior or habits, but I am concerned. Do any of you know what this could be?

Hi. It looks like he has lost a nail breaking right down to the quick. The nail should grow back within a few months and you don’t need to do anything but just make sure the toe doesn’t become infected or swollen and if it does, that’s the time to see a vet

Ahh okay, so as long as it stays in the nail and doesn't affect the toe, he should be okay?
