Hi!

Please see a vet ideally within 24 hours; it could be an ulcerating (i.e. infected) eye poke where a piece of hay has pierce the surface of the eye.

Your guinea pig will need antibiotic eye drops. Eye treatment and medication is the same as for dogs and cats, thankfully; so you should be hopefully able to see a vet, even if they are not familiar with guinea pigs? Eye injuries get worse very quickly but they also generally heal quickly and without problems if they are treated quickly. ;)

I would also try to get hold of plain artificial tear drops to keep the eye hydrated, make it more comfortable and to support the healing process. You have to wait at least 30-60 minutes after giving the medicated eye drops from the vet to allow them to be fully absorbed before you can give any artificial tear drops (3 times a day).

All the best!
