Hello,

As the weather begins to get colder, I am thinking of bringing my two from outside in on the colder nights. But in preparation for this I would like some ideas on indoor houses - they've out grown the house they had last year when they were babies! If anyone has any pics or advice on indoor houses for the winter (night time only), that would be great.

Thank you!

They can't be in only on colder nights. Through the winter they need to be either indoors or outdoors. If they come in on a cold night they'll need to stay in until its warmed up considerably, come spring.

Animals aren't like us. They can't cope with the fast and large temperature changes of being in a centrally heated house to suddenly going out into the cold of winter temperatures. It can make them really ill.

Thank you for the reply.
I was told different by the company who I rehomed them from, so this is new to me!

Would they be okay in a garage which isn't heated or is it just better to bring them inside during the winter full stop?

Thanks

Better to bring them inside full stop. Garages are far too cold in winter without insulation.

Have a look at this cage Ferplast 120

I have my girls inside full time.I love the fact that I can interact with them all the time. They are in a twenty square foot c&c cage.I don't have central heating so will be putting a heater in fur them when it gets really cold .

I would love to have them inside all the time! However my partner is concerned that they hay etc will make the house smell. How do you get around smells?! Do you have hay covering the entire floor of their house? If possible, could I see a photo?
Currently my two just wee and poo whenever...are yours 'trained' (another thought on containing smells!)?
Many thanks :D

I have litter trays that the majority of their wees are done in.The litter trays have aubiouse then meadow hay.The rest of the cage is fleece. As long as I keep on top of it I don't get a smell.I have fleece pegged over the cage where the litter trays are and that encourages them to use them.I have pics of my cage in the c&c cage thread
