Have had our piggies since July. They have a good size hutch and run outside. We planned to keep them outside but as it's getting colder we are thinking about bringing inside. At the moment hutch gets covered but I think they sleep apart. One prefers a plastic pigloo and the other a fleece pigloo. They are not burrowers as I stuff bedroom and pigloo with hay and they just flatten it.I'm worried they are too cold. I also put a snuggle pad under fleece pigloo too. I'm in Scotland so could get chilly!
Any advice please?

Please bring your guinea pigs indoors if you can; it is so much better and safer for them, unless you have a heatable shed or heatable, car-free garage. You will enjoy the regular interaction with your guinea pigs so much more and don't have to trudge out in the wet, snow or storm to feed and clean your guinea pigs. ;)
PS: You can use a rabbit or puppy run for indoors exercise that can be packed away.

Yes they have a pen and pop up play pen already for coming indoors for a run as the grass is wet. Tonight I have been out and insulated hutch, covered with a duvet and then made a foil bubble wrap snug for all over hutch and put a cardboard box with a fleece pigloo inside and stacks of hay ,also insulated bedroom floor with foil wrap, puppy pad, woodshavings ,then hay!. it looks lovely and cosy now.
I did read somewhere that bringing them inside from outside wasn,t good for them,so wasn't sure.

Bringing your piggies out from the cold into a hot room for cuddle/playtime and then out again, that is not at all good.
Bringing them in during the warmest time of the day slowly via an unheated room so they can adjust to a warm house or bringing them in earlier in the autumn when house and outside temperatures are not too different, then you can bring them inside directly.

Treat guinea pigs like tender plants - they need careful hardening off again in spring and don't like big swings of temperature in a very short time. ; )

I was adamant that my piggys weren't coming in and 'ruining'
my minimalist living room. But they are hysterical and more enjoyable to watch than the TV, they feel part of the family now - I really recommend it. :D
