Hi,
My two male piggies are now 9 month old and getting bigger by the day, they have always been indoors in a cage but now I am thinking of moving them outside to be housed in a hutch with a run. Would they adapt ok, will they be too cold, miss human contact etc.. The other option would be to buy a bigger cage for them and an indoor run? Or another option would be keeping the hutch in the garage, no cars are kept in there? Would appreciate any views on this, or housing that you could recommend.

Its still a bit nippy for them to adapt to outdoors but there is no reason why you can't do this. I personally have a 2 storey 6ft hutch for a maximum of 4 piggies and when they go out they stay out all year round. They don't have an attached run as these usually sit direct on the ground which is too wet and cold for them to go on for 5-6 months of the year.
My hutch is in a very sheltered area of the garden and i'm in Leicester where the weather is always mild (we very rarely get any snowfall even). I have an insulating and weatherproof cover and also use snugglesafe heat pods every night in colder months (and an ice pod in very hot weather). I also have a garage I can move them to if necessary when the weather is really bad

Both of my guinea pigs have been living outdoors since February and are doing fine but tonight it's windy rainy cold and hailing. Although they have a lot of hey in their bed area they have a cover on the wooden cage but the wind is blowing and I'm really worried incase is too cold for them. Since July 2016 they've been living in my room and then in February 2017 moved outside.
