Hi all:D

I am a new piggy owner!

Would just like some recommendations for an indoor cage/enclosure, I have one piggy at the moment however once she is all settle I am looking to get her a companion as soon as possible.

Obviously I would like a big enough cage for two preferably two tiered with a top.

Does anyone know any good sites/places etc

Thankyou!

Hello!

The minimum cage size for 2 guinea pigs is 60cm x 120cm so something like a Ferplast 120cm is a good sturdy cage, we had one and it is a great cage www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/small_pets/hutches_cages/rabbit_cage/120_cm_cages/14083

There are other housing alternatives available such as C&C cages. Some recommended supplies of pre-made c&c cages are http://correxcages.weebly.com/ that @kimlou5288 runs or www.candcguineapigcages.co.uk/

This thread gives you all the info on sizes for various amounts of piggies https://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/threads/cage-size-guide.120795/

C&C are really versatile and you can alter them as and when you need to. The potential for expansion is only limited by the space in your room. You can buildup but sometimes designs require extra support. there's lots of C&C pictures in a sticky section of the 'housing' part of the forum
For conventional cages Little Friends do a 160cm cage and it's a really good quality cage. I have the 120cm version as an emergency cage and it's really sturdy. With the 160 you have the potential to build a 2nd level yourself :)

My pleasure, welcome to the forum by the way, lovely to have you join us here.

I was pretty hesitant about joining as I've never joined a forum before, but it seems a lovely community here and a lot of useful threads, glad I did now:nod:

I've seen a lot of the c&c designs but I'm not very creative but they look like piggys love it! I'm moving soon so I can have a big room to dedicate to them, so hopefully I can get some ideas and get constructing when everyone's settled etc.

It's lovely. I've not been here long myself and during this time I have seen people rally round and bend over backwards to help others. Seriously, gone to great lengths to help. There's so many helpful threads and the community are quick to answer questions. And there's a lovely sense of humour here too :)

We went C&C when we moved house and it is great, you can get into them a lot easier ( ours like to run off when you try to get them out ::) ) we bought it all as a kit as I am awful at crafty stuff or DIY for that matter.... But our Ferplast 120 was a seriously great cage and roomy once you took the plastic thing out.

Great! It is the members that make it what it is. :)

From what I've seen one big piggy family, it's made me feel more confident in being able to care for mine!

I think I've caught the piggy bug, a year down the line I can see myself with one big pig mansion!
