Just researching right now, i don't have guinea pigs. Are there any possibilities for indoor pens that are lightweight? As in i have chronic pain and it is difficult for me to move or lift a huge wire playpen, and i would need to be able to put it back in the garage i think when not in use due to no extra space to store.

I've bought a nylon playpen from Zooplus for when my girls come inside - it's fab and easy to put up, down and store as it folds up into its own bag. I can't seem the copy a link using my iPhone though :(

I've got the medium size due to the space available, but if you can fit bigger, it's always better!

Both Amazon and PetsatHome do a small animal fencing that consists of small wire panels about 9 to 10 inches high that you link together to form a pen of whatever size you like.....just buy enough panels! They are advertised for hamsters but suit guinea pigs and no, I have yet to have a piggy jump out. You can use old sheeting or carpet as a base, and just dismantle it when you have finished. I will try and find a photo and post it in a minute.

I think they do them in a shop near us - do they not chew through them or mess them up? Or can you clean them?
I have a nylon pen for my chihuahua but she never really chewed things.

Do you know how heavy they are? It doesn't say anywhere

There's lots of options . Some people don't use a pen at all for indoor time .

There is a great video in this thread ...

Bonding Hendricks With The Group Of Girls..

It's about bonding a neutered boar with some sows but it shows how you can give floor time without pen.

I don't find mine chew it, but I've only had them three weeks! The base is water proof nylon, just wipe clean!

hi,i use the same playpen from zooplus but in big size.no they do not chew,it is extremely light weight.the floor of pen unzippes, can place in washing machine,,wipe down. .you can use newspaper, towels, fleece, puppypads to line floor.it has a hole to place water bottle.has a zip up net cover for top if needed,it can be used outside.i use mine as a cage when i take my cavies on holiday with me.they are very versitile..

The box they come in is not heavy at all. I sit on the floor to link them together. Alternatively when I want to use my kitchen floor for roaming time I just link three together and block off the doorway so I can keep an eye on the piggies.

I have an octagon shaped fabric pop up pen, the girls have tried to chew out of the waterproof bottom (well, really it's just Bella) but I'm hoping to get/make a cage liner for it. For now I'm putting down puppy pads and heavy houses/bridges/food bowels down on the corners so they can't get underneath! It's great for storage and moving around though.

I have the wire panels but to me, they don't seem secure/stable enough and the piggies could probably get out. Seeing as I have a cat that is not an option to have escapees!
