I've been umming and arring for ages about what kind of pen I should get my piggies! I was going to get one of the metal clip together indoor/outdoor pen things but after emailing the seller found that they aren't as stable as I'd like and *could* collapse if ran at!

So I'm thinking of getting a polyester/pvc coated/fold flat indoor run.. it looks like a tent! I'm sure you know the kind... has anyone got one of these?

It's just for the winter I would buy something else for them to go outside in, in the summer..

I'd love to let them run around freely but there's too many dangers and too many places to lose them right now.

I have a tru run which is a collapsible eight sided thing that you can take on hols or put up in teh house. There are several sizes, but I bought the biggest. I liked (and still like!) it because it goes completely flat and so stores under a sofa etc. You can either put bedding in it or have it open at the bottom. I've used it for the odd bonding that I've done and for containing piggies when we've been away overnight to give them some space. Not suitable for unsupervised outside run time though as it could blow away or be turned over by a cat.

I have one in pink like that :

I got the medium one & it is huge, across the widest part it is about 140 cm, my three little pigglies look lost in it lol :)

One word of caution though, they do chew the plastic inside at the bottom of each wall so I personally don't leave them in it for a long time, & also it is soft sided, not rigid enough to stand someone leaning on it (or a large dog jumping at it) in case you are wondering!

My pigs have this run for inside http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/small_pets/runs_fencing/73280/8_sided/95235. It doesn't have a bottom but I put down a shower curtain and then blankets on top. You can't unclip the sides or anything but it folds away dead easy. They wouldn't be able to knock it over if they tried it's very sturdy and adult guinea pigs are too big to squeeze through the gaps. It's a good size too I would quite happily have upto four guinea pigs run around inside of it.

that would be ideal for my lot so the boys can play thank you for that! X

Thanks :) I've been looking for a run I can use indoors and this looks ideal! x

Have you thought of getting a puppy pen, I mean they are designed for puppies which are far more forceful that piggies!

I have an 8 sided doggy pen from our old puppy and its sturdy as anything even my 12st self doesnt knock it over when I fall over like a dunce
