Hi, my husband has built an indoor pen for my piggies which is about 4' square, its a really good size and a good excercise area. I have been bringing my boys out in the early afternoon and letting them play and run around. There are plenty hidey holes and areas they can sleep, food etc. They stay in here till around 7 and go back into the hutch. They seem happy enough but i was wondering if this was too much or too long?
I think i worry too much:))

Sounds like they must be having fun there, the more room the better. Also some people on here have their piggies running around all day. As long as they have their hidey holes and plenty of hay, food and water :))

hark at me I sound like I am learning ;)

Thanks Pammy, your piggies are SO cute!
I just brought them in and there is certainly plenty of happy sounds, popcorning and exploring going on!

I sometimes leave my pigs in the playpen for days, kind of like a bit of a holiday home :)

Is the regular hutch outside? If so you will need to stat being careful once the weather changes so that the differences in temperatures are not too great for them.

Yeah? Thats good to hear, they obviously enjoy it. I have put lots of new stuff in the pen today and they are loving it.
The hutch is outdoors so i will keep an eye on the temp, thanks.

I was thinking that too, in winter if they're indoors all day, then they'll be used to that, and then be put outside again. Unless you plan on bringing the hutch inside in winter?

It's great that they have so much time to run around :)
