Hi All

I am getting really excited as I have had abit of a tidy up at home and made more room to get Reggie a bigger home :)
Been looking online at some indoor cages and was hoping you could all help me with some good sites I could look at too.

Ideally I want something like this and would like to get the stand for it too....

And then I came across this one which I absolutely love but the price is abit steep lol!

Not thought about a C&C cage?

Here's mine, obviously you don't need one that big i have 8 sow's in that lol.
I did often wonder how come you only have one piggy?

Wow that looks fab but not sure I have enough room to build myself something like that lol.

I only have the one piggy as I got him from a rescue and he was there on his own so I took him home :)
Over the last few months though I have been persuading the Hubby to let me have another one so may just get myself down to the rescue and get him a friend soon. x

A 4 x 2 C & C cage is only about 140cm long & would work out much cheaper. You can get the grids on ebay :

Or Screwfix do them for the same price, to order. All you need then is some correx :

2 sheets are plenty for a 4 x 2 or 5 x 2 cage & instructions how to make are here:

Really if I can do it anyone can!

well thats a 2x5 which would be best for two boars but if you did two level's of a 2x3 or 2x4, the was a thread about grids at JTF for £8 youd need 3 packs for a two level plus correx around £10 to £20 so a whole cag for £34 to £44, more space can fit any space and half price:)) can you tell i love mine lol

I have had both those cages, the rabbit 120 - I found it very annoying, the doors bent very easily and the noise scared my girls and it was a pain to clean out, having to take the wire bit off each time to get to the base without the doors falling on you, I found it all a bit flimsy!

I have to say other friends have that cage and it has different doors, they are not as bendy!

The second cage I love. So easy to clean out, I have left the roof off for easy access to the girls and it seems much roomer even tho it is roughly the same size. The base is also deeper too - in fact the only down side is that can make access to the water bottle difficult and the shelves that come with the cage are too high for my wuss pants ladies so they just have tubes and hay and I am looking into getting them a cage liner, well thinking about it!

xx

just thought i'd say, i found the safco connectors a right pain, they keep popping out and aren't as sturdy as the seville ones. don't know about the other type though. xx

I agree with aalur I have the safco connectors and have ended up using cable ties as i cant lean on the cage when cleaning without it popping appart!

They are easy to make, the hardest part is finding the materials and even thats not so hard anymore, i only use cable ties and never liked the connectors and i have seville one's

i would go for a c&c if you can, and they are easy hon even i made one, but i would go for cable ties not connectors, but its just choice x

Thanks for all your help :)
I will look into the c&c cages and see what I can afford and hopefully lil Reggie will have a new palace soon xxxxx

I love the idea of a c&c cage but I spoke to Kim and with me having a cat I need a cage which is more secure. I am currently on the lookout for some good priced cages then hopefully I can get another piggy soon :) x
