Hi everyone,
We currently have a Guinea pig called Val - she's amazing, very inquisitive, takes food from my hand ect we are loving having her as part of our family!

She has only been with us a few weeks and we currently have a 120x60 cage for her. I want to make some changes to the cage but don't know how and I was wondering what ideas people have?

I want a 2 story cage, same size, and I really don't like the wire bars so a c&c cage probably isn't right for us. I want something we can see her in ect. I've seen people using plexiglass and plastic for a front? Is this okay? And could I add it to the Base of my current home, and if so how could l build a second floor? Any ideas/ information would be much appreciated! Attached are my pictures of Vals current pad and most importantly of Val!

Firstly welcome to the Forum
:wel:

You cage set up is lovely and Val looks really sweet.

There are lots of great ideas on making your own cage with plexiglass - perspex.
Try a search on YouTube for ideas.

Here is a great instructional video by Piggiepigpigs on a two story plexiglass cage;

The only other thing I would highly recommend is thinking about getting a companion for Val.
You have the space for a second piggie, and this will be one thing that allows you to enjoy her so much more.
You will not only get to see Val's lovely personality emerge, but also the interaction between piggies is so much more fun and so interesting.
Not to mention how much happier Val with be with a friend of her own kind.

Don't forget to update us - we can never see too many piggie photos :nod:

Thank you so much for the advice! It's much appreciated!

We tried to pair Val but she unfortunately attacked the other piggy so the lady thought it was best to wait a few months until we really know her personality so we get the right companion for her.

Xx
