Firstly apologies if this has been asked before...

I was just wondering how people who have limited space and several piggies/cages organise the cages if C&C is no a long term option? I have two pairs of boars and they live in the skyline xxl cage (two in each cage) and the cages are next to each other. They also have time in an indoor run made from C & c but as I also have cats I can't use C&C as permanent living quarters for the piggies. What I'm wondering is if I was to rehome another pair of boars, can I stack cages on top of each other? And if I can do that, what about the cage at the bottom of the stack being dark and not getting as much light as the others? Hope this makes sense! Thanks

I had 3 cages Piling up in winter times.

I have stacked cages, but was more conscious of weight rather than light. They should still have plenty of all round light if they are in your conservatory? Also just figure out a way to keep them stacked secure in case a cat jumps up at them, so they don't topple. My cat used to walk along the top of the cages and fall asleep on top, the pigs were used to it and never bothered. xx

pinkladies - love the tiara!

Jane - what did you use to secure them? Can just see Rory falling asleep on the cages - he already goes to sleep in their run (when they are all safe and secure in their cages!)

I didn't really need to secure mine, because when I had a big piggy room in the house, they were only stacked in twos. Now is the shed, I have a combination of a cage on top a hutch, so it was never a problem. String or cable ties on the cages would be fine, but it is what you would connect it to on your wall? xx

That sounds a lot like my cats :))

(sorry about the mess in the cage)
These is my 2 cages for my 4 male piggy's (2 top & 2 bottom) complete with one of my 2 cats on top. I have put used 3 extra c&c squares as a support and shelve on both cages. It does make the bottom cage a little dark but I swap who is in the top and who the in the bottom every week.
I dont know if this picture will be any help as you said that C&C would be no good with your cats? hope it may do though.

I stack three cages high when I have to - though when you have 6 pigs all popcorning at the same time it gets a bit noisy but still stable.

Though I prefer to only stack two cages and the third is supported separately.

I just have a stack of two but i have one on a stand and the other underneath and the bottom cage seems to get enough light but i have them both in front of the window and the windowledge is low.
