Indoor cages... how many piggies?!?

I'm looking to build a C&C cage but know I'll get bitten by the guinea pig bug and think I'll end up with a few cages worth in a few years time. My question is regarding how many piggies different size cages are suitable for.

So how many piggies would a 100cm cage hold, a 120cm ,140cm and 150cm etc etc. Could you also indicate whether the figure is for sows or boars as I understand boars need more space.

I go by square foot boys do need more space I have 3 piggies in a 4 x 3... with a 3 x1 hay loft....

I could probably fit another pig, but my boar isn't neutered, my sows are spayed and they aren't easy to come about! We shall stick to 3 .

Sorry I didn't explain myself properly. Sorry!

The measurements I refer to are for actual indoor cages (ie ferplast 120, trixie150 etc).

I plan on building a C&C cage but know if I end up expanding my piggie family (which I can almost guarantee I will be doing in a few years) then it would have to be for proper indoor cages as opposed to C&C cages.

So... if I was to get a Ferplast 120 for example, how many piggies will that be suitable for?

I'm not good with maths so you'll have to forgive me!

I have 2 x Trixie 150 cages and have 3 piggies in each, I wouldn't put any more in. I would only have 2 in a 120 cage, I wouldn't keep any in a 100 cage (perhaps as a hospital cage or back up if absolutely necessary) then 2-3 in a 140 cage.

I agree with this

4ft x 2ft is the minimum for 2 piggies which is 120cm x 60cm. I have a 120cm cage with an added level that i use for 2 piggies. My 100cm cage also with an extra level is used for 1 pig
