My 2 guineas have a lovely big outdoor cage but am already thinking about the winter months and having them inside. The ones you build yourself aren't too practical as we have a interested cat....
I have been looking for reasonable cages with tray type bottom and wire top. Would 1m long be big enough? Also need it as may take the guineas away on our holidays and they would go in the caravan awning....
Tips or recommendations would be useful.
Would look to put them out in the winter when not too freezing/damp in run in garden for outdoor time.

Thanks Helen. Thats the sort of thing i was thinking. Not too keen having shavings in the house as messy. What's the score with fleece? Seems bit odd and unclean. I assume you change everyday?

You change every few days and you need something absorbent underneath like towels or washable bed pads. You need to wash the fleece 3 times before using too. Have a good look in our bedding section as there are other options such as Vetbed or different types of substrate like Fitch, Aubiose etc. I use Fitch for my hamsters which is great.

I have the ferplast 120 and it's a really good, practical cage. The skyline is cheaper but looking at the doors it doesn't seem very accessible, pigs can be tricky to catch and the door is pretty small whereas with the ferplast 120 you can open the whole front. There's also the ferplast 140 which is bigger is you have the space. I've used fleece and towels in it before but prefer fitch. There's also vetbed which people like, try a few different things and see which is better for you.
