Hi all, I am in such a panic. I have been struck down with some sort of bug for the last 48 hrs, I am not well at all so my dear Mother has been looking after the pigs, doing feeding, watering and medicine duties. I have just got up out of bed and have noticed my mother has left the lid off my only bottle of rheumocam which I desperately need for my piggie Ruby's cystitis. She has quite alot of flare ups and pain. The lid has easily been off around 6 or 7 hours in a light room/warmish room. I am in such a panic as I cannot get anymore until her next prescription is due at the end February/early March. I could honestly cry. Will the medicine still be ok and effective? All responses much appreciated as I now will not be able to rest. Thanks. Not sure if I have posted this is the right caregory.

I don’t think it will be a problem, that med does not require being refrigerated, get well soon

If you are really worried phone the vets and ask but if it were mine I'd be happy to carry on using it.

Get well soon.

Hi

Please take a deep breath. You are fine. Rheumocam (dog metacam) is to be kept at room temperatures and the lid is mainly there to prevent spilling and dirt getting in.

I've never had an issue with a metacam bottle I forgot to close since the same air is also inside the bottle. It can happen when you are interrupted in your routine.
