In Season

So our one sow Nancy gets pretty grumpy when she comes into season. Rumblestruting, chasing and mounting.

I can't even tell when Kitty comes into season and I don't know if Nessy has or not yet.

Is it normal for her to get like this? It only lasts about a day and then things go back to normal.

Yes it is normal. My piggies were in season around a week ago and they did the same thing! It is usually the dominant pig that is very hormonal and does the humping and chasing. They come into season every 15-17 days and it only last 24 hours.

Ok but I don't think Nancy is the dominate one. From what I can tell it's Kitty, that's why it seems weird to me lol

One of my young sows squirts pee, chases and trys to humps my poor boar. He has to put up with one nightmare day once every couple of weeks .If it was more often I think he would pack up he's hay and move out.

It is normal; some sows get their season stronger than others and some can get downright moody.
