Hello. My guinea pigs name is Charlie. Usually I pet him and he makes a purring noise. But today he has been acting weird. He sits in one spot in the back of his cage and when I pet him or pick him up he squeaks and it sounds hoarse. If anyone knows what's wrong with him, or have any Idea please let me know. Thank you!

Ooh yeah, Charlie has squeaked before but it's higher this time and it's when I pet him or pick him up. It's really non normal for him.

If it were me I'd be worrying I had a piggy in pain, and I'd be getting him to a vet to find out why/rule it out. There's far too many possible causes for me to speculate on which one though (and have any hope of being right).

Have you checked out the forum guides?

Fingers crossed he's ok!

I have been doing some searching and there is a chance he is just scared of something or jittery. I will keep an eye on him and if it gets just the slightest bit worse then I'm taking him to the vet. When I'm near him he isn't scared of me but I think he might be scared of something. When I'm near him he will put his feet on the edge of his enclosure and greet me, so I know it isn't me.

Please have any change in behaviour checked by a vet
It can be a subtle sign something is wrong.
I would also recommend you switch from the routine weekly weight checks and instead weigh him daily so you can mire closely monitor hay intake and ensure he is eating enough
