my piggy is nearly one years old and she’s a female.
today i’ve noticed that she’s making quiet wheezing noises, they are very very quiet though
she’s eating all her food, and pellets, and drinking water like she usually does.
the vet i usually go to is closed and i’ll have to go tomorrow, but is there anything i can do right now? and any idea why she might be doing this sound? thanks :(

If you are concerned about a breathing issue then you can call an out of hours vet. All UK vets provide a 24 hour service so If you call your normal vet practice their voicemail will provide details of the number to call to get out of hours help

Wishing you mr girl all the best.
i’m not old enough to drive yet and i thought my parents could take me to the vet but they said they won’t, so i don’t really know what to do .

the wheezing has calmed down but i still have to get her checked out :(

If you are under 18 then your parents are responsible for your pets and have a duty to provide vet care as soon as it is needed. Also members of the forum must be over 18 as per the rules

is this the piggy who had mites?

yes

Do you have an aunt or uncle or someone who could help, as your parents won't do a vet trip?
my auntie lives quite far. my dad has gone to work but said he will take me tomorrow instead. i know i shouldn’t wait and i should take her to the vet asap but the closest one is quite far :( i really hope it’s nothing serious and she will be fine

So has she stopped making the sound now? If so keep a very close eye on her in case it returns. If she is still making the sound then she really should be seen quickly.

she’s not making the sound any more but sometimes she’s making a clicking noise which is very quiet too.

I’d get a clicking sound checked out as soon as you can. Good luck.
yes i’m going tomorrow for sure now, ive booked an appointment! i hope she will be fine for now :(

is there anything i could do to try and make her feel better? should i just let her rest in her cage?

That’s great you’ve got her an appointment. I don’t have personal experience of this. You said that she is eating and drinking as normal. Keep an eye on her and if she gets worse you’ll have to go to the emergency vet. Good luck tomorrow. 😃
