Just today I noticed that she was squinting and it was a little wet around her eye. When I took a closer look I saw that her one eye was practically flat unlike the healthy one which is the usual bubble-like shape. Also this eye was cloudy, I couldn't even see her dark brown coloring to it. I told my dad and he's calling the vet tomorrow but I'm just really worried about her. I was looking online and it's likely that she is blind (from what I can gather) and while I could deal with that I'm scared it could be more serious. She does not seem to be in any pain what so ever. Can someone please give me a little info on what could be happening and if she will be alright? I'll absolutely die if anything bad happens to her:(

Hi, could posibily be the eye has eather ruptured, or/and become infected,
You need to get her to your vet as soon as you can,

Hopfuly your vet may save it , but even if he can not , she can live a perfictaly normal life

Please let us know how you get on

The vet will discuss this with you .

Recently, my Bess had a watery eye . She had a bit of hay in her eye . The vet flushed it out and she is now on eye drops.

It may be ulcerated from a hay poke, so you are right to go to the vets. If the worst happens and it has to be removed don't panic. My Tim recently had his eye removed due to an abscess behind it and is no different to before, he is charging about and loving life. Good luck at the vets. I think pain relief is the priority.

If it happened very quickly, then it's probably something like a hay poke, or a bit of hay in their eye. Pig's eyes are strange if that their eye tends to go opaque whenever they have an injury (and so it looks a lot worse than it is sometimes). This means they don't feel the need to blink as they're technically blind in that eye, and so it doesn't hurt as much. But it also means that their eye can dry quite quickly. If it's something like a piece of hay in their eye then they recover pretty quickly.

I hope it goes well at the vet. Good luck :)

Thank you for everyone's replies! Turns out I jumped to conclusions too quickly and it wasn't a ruptured eye! My clumsy piggie just a a piece of hay in her eye (albeit a very big piece). The vet was able to remove it with a bit of protest from my pig but it's out now and she will be fine. She has a small scratch and the vet hasn't prescribed anything yet but will within the hour. She is doing fin now and is in her freshly cleaned cage with a nice, big bowl of her favorite veggies for being such a good pig at the vets!
