this morning about 9.15 i was hanging washing out when I heard a massive thud and a yelping of course my stomach lurched a dog had been hit, so grabbing my keys and a clean bath towel i ran over the road to find a shaking little yorkie she had obviously ran out of the hedging alley that goes to the fields I wrapped her up and cuddled her carefully of course while shaking myself our friend came out and took her off me while I ran like a lunatic looking for the owner meanwhile my friends daughter took up to the vet nearby I spent over 2 hours knocking on doors trying to find the damn owners to no luck got home to find friends daughter who said the vet said it looks like her lower back is fractured / broke as she had no feeling in her feet her rear end was being dragged when I found her just got to wait to see what happens the owners were eventually found behind us so the poor little mite had got across the road and was coming back, I hope she sok and they pay out of rher care thats needed, the old man who hit her was shaking and distraught but it reallyw asn't his fault if it had of been I would have lost my rag with him but he was so upset, as you can imagine my day is ruined I am shaking even now I cried my eyes out while stroking her :'( Mick said if it had been a human would you have been so bad ( I wonder myself sometimes) prey shes ok for me she was only about 2 bless her little heart

Ah Michelle

You did what you could for the poor little doggy. She will be ok - she's in the right place x

Awww Michelle, how heart breaking for you :'( I'm glad it was you that was there, he's at least got a chance many other people would've driven or walked by, not you O0
we'll say some doggie prayers for the little man and cross our paws for him :-*

We had a thunderstorm yesterday and as always dogs get out and run away, another lady and i stopped in a nearby road that's busy but not too bad, a little foxy running down the road, she nearly grabbed him but missed i tried but missed and then luckily another car came past with two ladies in it and they were able to get him :)
we can only try :)

Hugs to you love :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:, i can just imagine how you're feeling :'( :'( :'(

Awwwh I hope the little dog will be ok :)
Your so good to animals :) Best of luck for the little yorkie! :'(

I hope you find the dogs owner, best of luck.

Even I feel sad reading that :(:(

Thank goodness you heard it Michelle and were able to respond so quickly. I really hope she will be ok. I really wish people would look after their dogs properly and make sure they don't get out. Like you say, the driver of the car was really upset and shook up. I know what you mean about whether you would be as upset if it had been a human. I sometimes wonder that about myself.

My Mum once ran over a dog that ran out in the road.

Turns out it was deaf and blind and not on a lead !

WTF?

What a super hero you are! Thank god you were around to help out! ;) ;)

oh that's made me cry, I have two yorkies, we live on a main road, i never let mine off the lead,
keep us updated if you can

just rung the vets the 3rd to do so ahhh and they cannot tell me details only that she is being treated, so she is still alive thank God, feel a little better now hope shes going to be ok she was so sweet, I'm a big dog person not a rat on a rope as my hubby affectionatly calls the little ones but she was so cute, :smitten:

my husband refers to my two as rats too.
they make lovely companions, and they fit under your arm too.

Bloomin eck M, what a day you've had. Its awful when they're so helpless. I think we must have a similar mentality, when Margalo died I called my sister & I was a bit wobbly sounding before I actually told her, she said 'oh no who's died', then she said 'actually if someone had died you wouldn't be crying - it must be an animal!' oh how right she is!
Hope the dog pulls through. 0:)

I had a Yorkie once, she was my best friend, well actually she was my only friend and guarded angel. she was brought for me the year my bullying at school started, she was run over when the stupid caters my mum got in, when we had a party, she was in a room and they went in and left the door open, she got run over and killed out right with a broken neck, it was that Christmas i stopped believing in magic,

sorry very sad, the story has made me feel like a 11 year old again, got her when i was 9 she died the year my bullying stopped, her job was done,,,

i spent many a happy hour with Bonnie, she was a very good friend! :smitten:

all my family have been ringin up to see how I am they knew i would be shocked , Max my dog heard the dog yelping yesterday and was acting wierd all night he seems calmer now so it didn't only affect me , I hope its ok it would have been nice for the owners to knock and thank me but i guess thats the type of people they are couldn't be bothered to keep the dog locked behind a gate ok it could have been an accident but why take over 2 hours to look for her , poor little mite deserves better, and yes I would do ANYTHING for animasl but people I am too wary of< Mick saved an old man thursday he had fallen over and he was the only one to stop and help he said he was wary but his police training kicked in and he approached him carefully once he knew he was genuine he helped him, and he had a pupil in the car with him who was a nurse luckly, this country has so changed from the caring friendly help anyone place it used to be , shame on us all

It is amazing what people won't do. I was in court years ago for stopping a youth attack a woman on a bus while she was having an epileptic fit >:( I wasn't actually on the bus but got on it to stop him. The bus was full and it was late september & full of male students who should have helped. The bus driver didn't give a toss either. Luckily I helped the woman with her fit becasue a friend of mine is epileptic so I knew what was happening as soon as I saw her.

When it got to court there was a big skin head bloke who approached me & held his hand out to shake mine. I didn't have a clue who he was. He said he was ashamed because he didn't go to help her but saw me do it . He said he learned a lesson that day & will always try to help. I nearly cried!

I believe in karma and like to keep mine stocked up! I would like to think that someone would help me or my animal if there was a emergency. It must make you feel really angry that the owners haven't approached you to offer their thanks. I bet it has affected you more than them grrrrr

I feel sad now. I know how that must feel to hear and even see that. Poor poor dog, it upsets me hearing dogs yelp like that.
;(
