I'm not sure if this is normal guinea pig behaviour or if there is something wrong with Isiah, but over the last few days he has been laying down on his side much more than usual.
He has never been a very active piggy and I have noticed he likes to lay on his side when he is relaxing but recently he is doing it ALL the time. If I put him on my lap he lays straight down on his side (before he used to take a while to get comfortable and brave enough to relax ). When I plonk him back in his cage, lays straight on his side. The other day I put a plate of veg in for them, Ollie munched away, and Isiah took a carrot into their play house and just laid down. I had to entice him out to get more veg before Ollie ate it all.
Appart from that he is eating and drinking normal. He just seems lethargic. Is this normal - is he just a really relaxed, chilled out piggy?

I would take him to the vets, if you think he is lethargic. The **** with guinea pigs is they hide illness, its a survival instinct. So when they do appear ill its usually best to get it checked as they may be going down hill. My Jasper hid his illness for 2 weeks, i felt so bad. He has taken nearly 2 weeks of antibiotics to just start getting better and i have been so worried about him. The vet would rather you were safe than sorry.
Which of your pigs is which? Your himmy is just like my Jasper x)

What was wrong with Jasper?
Isiah is the multicoloured one and Ollie is the himi lookalike - I dont think he's a really himi.

If in doubt, I would have him checked at the vets, if only for the peace of your mind. You never know; the early signs of illness can be very subtle.

no you're NOT being stupid.......... xx>>>xx>>>
you are being a caring loving slave x)

OK.........so you've noticed this behaviour is there anything else? ......think about it, call your vets and make an appointment :)
Make sure they know his age and his USUAL habits......... erm are his pooops OK and no wheeks when weeing?.......

It could be his age....... my girls are now doing the FLOP :)) when lying down more and more....... they're not old but they're nearly 2 1/2...... they still do popcorns too LOL........ just something i've noticed more lately :)

Really? He's a good Himmy lookalikey!
He has a respiratory infection, has lost weight. He is back at the vets on Fri, am hoping for some good news. But he has seemed better the last few days.

I've not noticed anything else, thats why I think I'm just being silly. Poops are normal, wee is normal, eating and drinking fine. He's only about 6 months old so shouldn't be slowing down with age. He still popcorns. I think he's just lazy actually. He love cuddles so thats probably why he lays down on my lap. I also wonder whether he is just getting more relaxed around Ollie since I introduced them. Like I said he's never been a very active piggy, so maybe he was just on the alert all the time when I introduce Ollie and now Isiah is starting to relax again.

Poor Jasper :( hope he gets better soon.
Ollies mum was the same colours as Isiah, not sure about the dad. He must have Himi in him somewhere but not a pure himi. He doesn't have dark feet like most himis.
