I cannot tell you how happy I am.

Yesterday i could take it no longer, call me soft but I HAD to bring in my 2 foster piggies. I had to do their second lice and easy anyway so they were staying in for the night to dry. I had ordered a cage recommended by weibke on another thread as I was going to bring them in when I came back from my holiday in a couple of weeks.

However inside me has been screaming "BRING THEM IN FOR GOOOD!" for weeks. So I decided that I would just keep them in. They are in a small C&C cage that I use temporarily, it's 2 x 2 grids so not brilliant but it's okay for a short time.

Well they have hidden since being brought in, they really wouldn't come out unless it was the middle of the night or we were out. I just started the veggie prep and the other girls (in a different room) started the wheek wheek wheek and the 2 foster girls came out with me in the same room! That is a real achievement. I was flying!

Then one of them POPCORNED! OMG I am over the moon. They haven't shown any kind of happiness since we brought them home. She did a real life static popcorn.

Then as soon as I put the veggies in they BOTH started eating outside their house with me in the room and were acting like that was normal.

How cool! Sorry to go on and on and on but I can't describe how happy that has made me!! :(|):(|):(|):(|):(|):(|):(|):(|)

thats really cool :) congrats on your newly found happy piggies hehe
its amazing when they popcorn :D

I know the feeling - BIG CONGRATULATIONS! \\:)):)):))

It's such a special moment; thank you so much for sharing it with us! They will fly from here! That is what makes fostering and adopting especially shy piggies from rescues so rewarding!

I'm still working on it with Taffy and Tegan, but we will get there as well.

THANKS! It's a really heady feeling as they have been so very very timid and sad looking. I am sad to be going on holiday now (Saturday). Mum is moving in to look after my guineas, dog and cat and she asked me to keep them outside so she didn't have to handle them much to clean them out. But between my temporary cage and the cage coming tomorrow I can make up both and she can just swap them over and leave the rest to me when I get back. I can't send them back to the hutch, it's going to work so much better indoors.

What a difference 24 hours indoors has made.

When piggies decide to be at home, it's such a change...

I'm sure you mother will cope and your boys will go on being happy!

Will do - they are back to hiding in their giant igloo right now but it's almost veggies time and I am guessing igloo time will get less and less as time goes on.

Going to put them in an indoor run tonight. See how they go.
