Hi all, well the baby piglets are already 9 weeks old and now weigh 485 and 486 grams each (they are always 1 gram out every week...no joke!) I brought them into the conserveratory to a new fleece laden hutch with snuggle pad a few weeks back and am loving it, oh and it seems so are they lol! :))

The fleece is the best revelation ever, wonder if I can convert to it with the chooks mallethead.

So they have all the hay they desire as I bought a bale lol! and pellets now too with extra fruit and veg. too. They do almost all their poos and wees in the large potting up tray I put in the hutch which is great as I paper it as it's their entire food area, then I can change it every day or 2. However the stupid water bottle kept leaking so I changed to a water dish which they poop in and spill inbreeding what can I do is there a better water bottle I could buy as it would also give them a bit more space going back ot a water bottle.

My other Q is how can I keep boredom at bay? I stuff thick cardboard tubes with hay from the holes I made they have wooden stick ramps and hideys and a main house they share (they are so far very well bonded and I have never seen them scrap). I'm getting my hubby to make a frame to put the potting up tray on increasing floor space and making an extra dark space for them which will be cool. I would like to try one of those feeding ball things you put food in but I don't know if it's worth buying? Any ideas folks? Also should I change the place around? With the way they pee in the plastic potting tray they only need a main clean out once a week and tbh they could go longer :) forgot also what is the dark brown pee on the fleece in the odd spot? Is that a scent mark? Never noticed it before as they were on paper and shavings. Sorry for long post and so many Q's! :{

I hope I can answer a few, but probably not all! :)

I buy the cheapy water bottles, and just replace them whenever I need too as theyre so cheap! Periodically I find the metal gets twisted with all their chomping and it leaks.
Some people also use glass water bottles.

I have the hanging food ball. I put timothy hay in it, and they love tugging it out!

Tissue boxes as hidey houses.

A soft tedding for them to take their frustration out. :)
