Visited Ikea today and picked up 1 fleece blanket for 5lira (£2) - bargain!

Cut it into 4 bits for the cage washed it and put it in. Piggies seem to be much happier on that than they were on shavings!

And it's so much easier, no shavings everywhere everytime I feed or pick them up. No 1 hour spot clean etc...

I highly recommend it!

what have you got under it? i'm thinking of changing to fleece

Most people have newpaper then cheap towels (mine are from Ikea as well for less than £1), an some people have also got a layer of vet bed. Somebody on here usues shredded paper between two layers of newspaper as underlay.

As the fleece wicks away any moisture, you simply need an absorbent layer underneath.

I have changed to fleece as well and wouldn't change back.

At the moment I have a towel but am having a think about what else I could use as I don't think towels would be great in the long term.

I am thinking of ordering those puppy pads that someone else recommended on another thread.

However I am converted because it's just so much easier cleaning etc and no woodshavings everywhere they were driving me nuts!

Ah forgot about the cheap Ikea towels, might get some just to keep me going until I can get some puppy pads! At least I could change the cage everyday then, I think I have a heavy wetter :))

I use washable incontinence pads under my fleece in heavy areas and newspaper under areas they don;t tend to toilet in, i also have litter trays

What do you use for litter trays? Is it possible to train a gp?

I put a nice piece of really thick fleece in there thinking they might like to sleep on it and what do they use it for? Yes poo lol!
