I noticed tonight while spot cleaning the cages that Igor my winter white dwarf is holding his back leg a little funny?
I've got video of it
Not sure if other people can see.

He's holding it up a little bit and isn't really putting it down to walk
But he does place it on the floor sometimes and is leaning back to lift up onto his back legs.
It doesn't look swollen and he isn't making pain noises? But I don't think he would if he was in pain,
He is being a little funny about me touching it
And he doesn't like being touched too much anyway
He's swinging round like he wants to bite me when I strike near it.

Does this sound like a break? Maybe just a sprain?
Does it need vet treatment?
I'm happy to take him to the vet I just know with him not liking being handled at all it might stress him out more than it helps if it's a simple sprain that will sort itself out :/ :/
Don't know what the best move is here :/

My friends dwarf hamster did this too. Then when she went to the vets the wee soul was walking normally. So don’t know what to suggest. Hope the little one is better soon. Her little one was really elderly 4 years old so vet thought maybe arthritis.

Can't help you there. My hamsters (I've had 8 over the years) never hurt themselves like that. Have you a Winter White or a Sapphire Winter White? I had both and I absolutely loved Frankie (Sapphire) and Coco (normal). I would love another hammie but the boring OH says 5 piggies are enough even though it's me who looks after them all! With a bit of help from Tom my youngest who at 15 is surprisingly willing to help out if I ask.

He's a normal winter white :)
I know how you feel! I was all for having some degu's but my partner also said no! :(

I'm not sure I'm leaving towards his spraining it somehow, so I think I'll have to do some research and keep an eye on him

It is a work in progress! Every so often I bring up the subject of having another hammie. He'll cave in eventually! It was our last hamster that put him off. Archie was the most anti-social hamster I have ever owned. I never treated him differently to any others he just didn't like people! **Sigh**

Igor is like this, he's so aggressive it's unreal, he'll chase you around the cage and if he catches you oh my gosh it's hell,
I don't know why Igors like it either!
I say some Hammie are just look and not touch hamsters! ;)
