Ignoring her

Hi I had a neutered boar with a sow that seemed to get along fine sadly my boar passed away on Saturday leaving my 7 month old sow on her own we got a baby sow for her and introduced them on neutral ground and all seemed fine no fighting at All we have put them both in the freshly cleaned and rearranged cage but now by sow is just ignoring the new sow do you know if this will settle down As I don't want either of them to feel alone

Give them time - your older sow may still be in mourning and not ready yet. It is also a change for her to go from a boar to a baby girl.

The first few days are often not that easy, as many guinea pigs do not follow OUR script. As long as they do not fight, I would leave them for a few days and see how they get on. My very first bonding between two girls was not an easy one, but eventually they became the very best of friends.
