Junior Guinea Pig
I have a friend that has 2 girls and was wondering what size c&c cage they need also do they need igloos ? And what kind of enrichment toys
Is that why one of the pigs tips the bowl? The c&c needs to be a 2x4.
They need two hides each with two exits.
We don’t recommend igloos/pigloos because they only have one exit which can pose a problem.
Also, they tend to be made of plastic which isn’t advisable.
A big hay pile loose on the cage floor is the best type of enrichment as it encourages their foraging ability. Their veg and pellets can then be hidden in the hay pile to further encourage their mental stimulation. (Ie, don’t use food bowls or hay racks as they remove their ability to forage)
Cardboard boxes with holes cut in and stuffed with hay are also good enrichment

Remember - guinea pigs are ground roaming group animals and they need as much space as you can spare! More space to run and popcorn in means healthier and happier piggies and in turn more joy for you!
Here is a visual guide to show you the sizes of the currently commercially available cages in comparison to each other:
This is a 120x60 cm / 2x4 ft cage in comparison with a 100x50 cm cage, which is sadly still very much pushed by pet shops and commercial online sellers; you can see what a difference it makes!
C&c grids are a size of 35.5cm to meet the size...
