I think I am going to try and do a set up in the shed, I was thinking hutch and run on floor so they can have plenty of space all the time, we have two small sheds and one 10x8 so if I clean this out[no mean feat] there will be plenty of room they can have much more room in all weathers.

The two I had before did three winters in the smaller shed in hutches and were fine although Elvis not being well he will have to stop in the house due to the syringe feeds. But this year has been very cold, If yours are in sheds have they been ok and how do you keep them warm enough.

Space heater and lots of warm bedding and maybe get the sheds insulated... :)

Mine have a hutch snuggle, and a old fashioned thick blanket. Keeps them warm. Oh, and lots of straw and hay too :) but honestly, despite us being in the coldest county in the UK, they have always done fine!

hi ruth, we put ours in the shed, it does keep the wind and rain out but when it got really bad over the winter we put a plug in oil filled radiator in (on an extension lead from the garage and a circuit breaker), we were hoping to take the hutches out by march, but its been too cold! The piggies and rabbits were nice and warm (they are in separate hutches), in fact it was nice walking into the shed from the cold..... having said that we havent had the electric bill yet which is bound to be a bit of a shocker rolleyes as the shed is not insulated, I'm sure when my b/f gets the bill we will be off to b&q for some insultating stuff :))

we want to put lino on the floor, which as well as insulating the floor slightly it will also be easier to keep the floor clean and disinfect it xx

Mine live here 6 x 6 shed all insulated with loft insulation and the boarded :)
