If You Have 4 Piggies In A C&c.......

Ah, didn't spot that! Thanks. I have 2 in a 5x2 (with a 5x1 upper level) c&c and have enquired about an elderly lady to make a trio. But if she's no longer available, I may add another pair of young girls to make a group of 4.

I could just about get away with an increase to a 6x2 (with a 6x1 upper level) but there's no space to add any more length or width. But I'd HATE to be overcrowded and so would rather stick to a duo or trio than have 4 and be crowded.

I had 3 piggies in a 5 x 2 C&C (with a 2 x 2 loft, which they all used), and to be honest I felt that was probably the maximum number I would have in that size.
But having said that they were also 3 very young and active piggies who tend to belt around the cage like mad things, so maybe with older piggies it would seem bigger?
I now have 4 pigs in an 8 x 2 C&C (but only a 1 x 2 loft) and that seems like a good size, with plenty of space for hideys, a dedicated kitchen area with large hay trays, etc.

I have a 3x 5.5 cube cage with 4 pigs (1 is 8 months old, 1 is 6 months old, 2 are 3 months old) I am already finding that I feel they need more room. They have room for trays and open space to run but I am not able to put as many cozy Items as I feel they need (enough to be alone if they want) as I feel it crowds the cage too much.

Aww, just saw this @Mackers . Did you loose your older sweet Lilipad? Hugs

I have to say I like to give them space so maybe stick with 3 although if you could make it 6 x 2 then I think 4 would be ok. Like I said I think Sarah @Hazelcroft Rescue has an older girlie in looking for a home at moment. Pop her an email to ask for more details. Your piggies have such a lovely home :)

Where did you get your grids from?

Thanks Suzy - I've messaged Sarah via the website email but I know how busy she is so don't want to pester. But if I've not heard in a day or two, I'll message via the address you've given. A trio would be preferrable so one mature lady sounds ideal.

6 x 2 c and c is fine for four piggies, ive a neutered boar and 3 ladies in a 6 x2 ,that seems plenty big enough to run around.:)
