I'm just making a c&c cage and am pondering how best to make a safe ramp up to the hay loft. Anyone got any ideas please?

Oh yeah! Forgot this! What about sides though? Do they need sides do you think?

well i don't but you could put grid's either side, my ramp is to one side so is enclosed on one side atleast or you could do it wider so they are less likely to get in each other's way.

I have use a short pine shelf with glued-on carpet for grip. Mine don't have a banister as it were and never have had an accident. Having said that it is sort and not very high. I secured the said shelf to my mezzanine floor with cable ties through 2 drilled holes in the shelf.

If you have the mesh C+C grids, you can bend them so that they have sides, then it is basically a * shape, use cable ties to attach them to your C+C cage. My husband did this with two and attached them together again using cable ties and slightly overlaping them so that they were strong in the middle. Then just use fleece or vetbed to cover it so that they can get up and down. No need to stick it down just tuck it underneath at the top of the ramp.
