Hannah Boyd
Junior Guinea Pig
Hi everyone,
I've got two fairly large wooden hutches on legs (approx 1.5ft legs) and they will soon be moving into an insulated shed. I would really love to extend my 5 piggies living quarters by somehow 'fencing' around the legs to offer more space underneath the hutches. My pigs live as a 2 and a 3 and they do get along if they have plenty of space, eg. out in the run. And so I wondered if it was a good idea to have two ramps, one from each cage, and a communal floor space. Obviously, they might go into each others hutches but I was hoping that they would have enough space to avoid disagreements. Any thoughts on how it is best to 'fence' this area? The floor will be plywood with a layer of flooring over the top and I'd be able to put down bedding/hay etc. I have seen ramps with sides covered with carpet/fabric and I'd intend to do that. Any suggestions would be great!
