The cage for Cheese is getting quite small for him as he's growing a lot... any ideas for a new cage (that's cheap as well)?
I've had a look at the c&c cages, might try that but need some pictures of them, so I know how big they would be and if it would suit my piggy. Could someone who has a c&c cage possibly post a picture of it?
I would also like to see some websites that sell fleece bedding and what would I need to clean it? :)

1401878417426.webp This is my 2x4 and is a perfect size for my 2 boys. The website sent everything needed to build it and link it together and has even survived an accidental fall into it (I'm really clumsy).I literally typed c&c cage into Google for the website and couldn't recommend enough. I think it was about £80 (could have been more, the OH bought it for the boys at Xmas).

A c&c cage can be made to whatever size you wish. You can buy the bits srperately and it may work out cheaper. There is a thread on here with c&c cages.I think mine are on there too

Are the c&c cages hard to put together, and do you need any extra equipment to make it? :P

If you buy the kit from the website recommended by gus+walter, it'll come with clips and correx.

There's loads of ideas on this thread ...

http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/threads/member-gallery-c-c-cages-homemade-cages.53210/ - I strongly recommend you look at it as some members have done some really imaginative things .

Here are 2 links I have saved after recommendations from other forum members

Personally, I use cable ties to join my grids together .

I have been without my C and C cage for a while as OH insisted they were kept in a hutch outside.

I have found space for a small C and C which I will use a their wet weather run. I was setting it up today and will admit to using a few four letter words !

It was well worth it. They get grass time when the weather is good but I don't want them stuck in a hutch all day just because the weather is bad.

I wouldn't go back from having a C&C now, they're so easy to make and just change as and when you need too. I've only ever connected mine with just cable ties. But i have a 2x4 with a 1x2 loft, at one point i also have a 2x2 connected for one of my piggies who unfortunately has now passed away, but it just shows how easy it is to add sections and then take them away.
I spent a little over £100 on my cage, just because i wanted extra grids to make the storage section as i didn't really want to have my cage on the floor. It took at least an hour to make, but it was my first time and i didn't really follow any instructions which may have made it easier, but i just made it up as i went along haha, it is definitely something that you want 2 people for just with help holding bits and bobs, but i would say it's probably easier than trying to put flat pack furniture together haha. But i'm always adding and taking bits away from my cage because it's so simple.

Aww I'm sorry about your piggy. :(
But as well thank you for the info. I like how you used the grids for storage :)
What do you use for the tray (the black thing around the inside)?

Thank you :) I have seen the white grids but not the black ones so I have a look on there when I can have a c&c set up.
Thanks again Kell

Great set ups .. don't you find it hard to clean out and doesn't it get smelly especially the fleece ?

I just empty litter trays every day and sweep up poos.Have extra fleece where they have the odd wee that gets changed when wet.Incontinence pads and main fleece gets changed once a week.I don't think there is a smell but I have rats and they smell really quicjly

My Guinea Pigs love their cage. I have a cat so I have a roof on mine but in the basement they have a run made out of the c&c and it is 5x6x2x3x3x3 it is a weird shape and it doesn't have a cover on it because I can watch that my cat doesn't go in it. That picture is old now I have 100% fleece in the cage and my piggy's love it and I find it a lot cleaner and easer to clean. I just put towels down under the fleece and I have no problems.

I posted earlier but I decided to take a updated photo. My main c & c cage cost around $80.00 I didn't have much time to wait for a sale so I paid full price and I bought 2 boxes. This new picture shows the fleece and I love it. I am a stay at home wife so I have the time so I spot clean every time I walk by the cage and have a few minutes. Two of my fleece were bought at Wal-mart for $5.00 each and 1 fleece does the whole bottom and I only put one layer. My other 4 fleece was bought at Giant Tiger for $3.00 a fleece and it also takes one for the bottom of the cage. I put towels 2 layers under my fleece and so far I haven't had a problem. My piggy's love there loft. I have a cat so I put the tiles on the top so he doesn't get in.

I have a run in my basement where we sit and watch t.v. I bought another box of c & c and thought if they go on sale I might buy one more box and make the run a bit bigger. I bought all my c & c at Canadian Tire for $40.00 each box. I just put down a blanket and I just wash it when needed. Their food area is on the floor tiles so I can clean it easy.
