My hubby has put a thin wood mezzanine floor in the cage for me. I'm going to secure thin carpet to the floor so they don't slide around on it and looking at using half a drainpipe lined with carpet as a ramp. Am pondering on what to use as a "railing" at the top so that they don't jump, any ideas? I'm going to put some sort of low privacy cover around the outside as well.

Actually any ideas, suggestions welcome!

I made one last week for a ferplast 120, cheap from zooplus. I used two stackable shelves from Asda with legs with support. These were tied with cable ties. I then bought thick carpet tiles from b and q from discount section £2 each. They stanley very nice and create a box effect. Also punched holes in the carpet and cable tied to cage. So, shelf, then carpet tile on top. Puppy pad and fleece left hanging over like a little curtain. I don't have ramp *** piggies like to jump and down. Hope this helps. I would use the carpet tile and create box, punch holes and cable tie together..s

Hey susiewoosie, do you have a photo of that? I am currently trying to work out how to add a level to a ferplast casita 120 but I'm obviously not as good at planning how to make stuff as people on here :) Many thanks, shiny

Great mezzanine by the way Jayne G :)

here is the little shelfs, i put two side by side at one end. you can take the legs off, so i took legs off side at the top of the cage and left other on for stability.

sorry piggies, still in when photo was taken... attached only at the end of cage, so i can lift and clean underneath.

then, carpet tile on top, punched an also attached at end of cage to secure

this is what it looks like at the end of cage.. both parts attached separately for ease to dismantle and clean underneath.

Thanks that is brilliant :).

I am ok at making things once I have some instructions to follow & can definitely give this a go. Your guineas are cute too :)

Will let you know how I get on...

Same here, okay once i get going but sat with all the stuff in front of me for about 3 hours, then partner, pete walked in "ding" he came up with this layout. Previously, i had it about 4 other ways..this is least cutting and sawing that i could come up with.. let me know how you get on.. sx
