Adult Guinea Pig
that I feel really chuffed at the moment.
Due to one of our guinea pigs having to be pts (Sheamus) Big E was left alone, we tried him next to the sows, he didn't seem that interested. So we put him back in his proper cage and after seeing him look down I decided to ask my son what he would like to do in regards to Big E, would he like to neuter and try him with one of our sows or would he like to adopt.. he opted for adopting because he didn't trust the vets here due to us losing two guinea's due to rubbish vets (sorry to be so blunt), he contact one rescue who said they could help but it would be with a younger guinea which I don't agree with for certain reasons, although I would have gone with the idea for Big E, however I speak to a couple of other woman that run a rescue and they contacted us to say they were getting a boar in and asked if we would like to try him with Big's, my son said yes....
So just over a week later off Big E went to meet his new friend, who's name was Buster at the time, my son said there was the normal trying it on with each other but they soon stopped it, he bought them both back, both seemed quite happy in the pet carrier... cleaned their cage out, put them in and tada! No real trouble! The normal dominance thing, but no teeth chattering nothing like that, the whole thing has surprised me because apparently Jericho was a loan piggie and was never handled really, he was fed and clean but that was about it and I also thought Big's might reject him because of him being so close to Sheamus. Big's does still seem a bit sad on occasions but better than he was when he was on his own. They are a pair of nutters lol
The other reason that I'm so chuffed is, this was our second successful bond, the first was Storm and Snow, two baby boars.
Here's a pic of Big E (the dark brown piggie) and Jericho... Jericho is trying to eat my son as usual lol. (Excuse the quality of the picture).
