Abdola
New Born Pup
I've had my guinea pigs for over a year now and I am fully aware I don't spend enough time with them. I feel really quite bad because most of the time I only see them when I feed them morning and night.
See my parents won't let me keep them in the house which means I don't get to see them in passing - they live in a shed in the garden so at least they don't get cold. But it's rarely warm enough that I feel comfortable putting them out on the lawn. But also we have a dog, so I can't really bring them inside and i have to be careful where I put them on the lawn because the dog wees!
I know it sounds like they aren't cared for, but I do check on them and they don't seem unhappy really. The main problem is that they don't know me and are still nervous. I can't give them cuddles because they don't like being held all that much, and food doesn't seem to comfort them too much when they're on my lap.
I really want to make a better bond with my guineas. Ideas?
