Hi, sadly we lost one of our boars, Patches, about 10 days ago :bye: which left his friend Bubbles feeling very lonely. I posted on the Rainbow Bridge section about him and received some lovely comments x

Yesterday we made the trip over to Milhaven rescue and there Bubbles, aged 4 (ish) was introduced to Clive, aged 18 months. They spent the day together and seemed to get on great and we brought Clive home with us.
Once back home in the hutch we had the typical signs of two boars getting to know each other and work out who's boss, some teeth chattering, head bobbing, chasing, mounting and lots of rumble-strutting! Bubbles wouldn't let Clive into the sleeping area at all so poor Clive sat in the doorway last night!
Today they've been doing the same, slightly less chattering but still lots of chasing round and round and bottom sniffing and squealing but thanks to all the great information I found on here (and provided by Milhaven rescue too) I didn't have to worry too much about them and tonight I have just found them in bed together! They're not exactly snuggled up but at least Clive has been granted permission to enter now. I think we may be on the right track, I know this is early days but so far so good and I'm really hopeful that these two will form a lovely friendship.

So the reason for my post really was just to pass on my thanks to everyone who has taken the time to post lots of really really useful information and share their experiences on this forum regarding bonding and general piggy welfare. It has been totally invaluable for me over the last few days!

I'll post pigtures once the boys are fully settled together!
Thanks
Carolyn x

Oh that is wonderful! I hope they will be very happy together. I am looking forward to the pictures.

It's really nice to get a positive post like this as we have had a lot of posts recently from people having problems with boar relationships. I know it's human nature to be more vocal about problems on forums like this - but it's nice to have a balance.

Like you, I am full of praise about the advice I have got from this forum since I joined.

Please keep us updated on how they settle in and I will look forward to seeing pictures of Bubbles and Clive.
