My skinny pig was attacked by my cat last night and she bled a little. Her lung looked a little messed up but i had no way of getting to the vets until later on today. She was doing fine eating drinking running around so we thought she was ok but she started squeaking and was on her side i helped her up and her front arm looks very weird and she can’t walk. She keeps trying to but ends up on her side. Right now i have no way of getting to the vet and don’t know what to do but i need help. Please help.

I'm so sorry to hear your piggie is hurt. 😔 I just wanted to let you know that this site mostly UK-based and it's about 6am here, so people should start appearing over the next few hours.

To me it really sounds like something a vet needs to physically examine ASAP, particularly as there might be additional injuries, although I know you say you can't get to a vet until later today. In the meantime, does your pig have access to food and water without having to move far? You don't say how the attack happened - are they now safe and secure?

Sorry I can't be much help, hopefully someone better will be along soon 🙂

UPDATE shes at the vets we’ve been to 3 and she’s having seizures they rushed her to the emergency room so we are waiting to see how she’s doing. She had been doing great and eating but she stopped it turns out she was having seizures that i assumed was just her moving to get more comfortable. I’ll keep you guys updated thank you to everyone who is helping.

I’m so sorry your piggy has been injured. It’s great you managed to get her to a vet. I hope they can help her.

Wishing you all the best at the vet's.

Very sorry for the accident; they tend to happen too quickly for you to prevent them unfortunately. Cats with a strong hunting instinct and guinea pigs sadly don't mix well. :(

UPDATE guys thank you so much for all the love sadly pam passed last night from loss of oxygen. She had painkillers and wasn’t in any pain. I have been non stop crying and feel so guilty. I am so sorry pammy i should’ve known tobey was in the room and got him out. I love you and miss you.

I’m so sorry Pam has passed. Accidents happen unfortunately. Tobey was just being a cat. Be gentle on yourself as you grieve. ❤️

I am so sorry.

Please be kind with yourself. These things are not foreseeable and therefore never preventable. It is always much easier to beat yourself up in hindsight.

Just try to treat it as one of those life lessons you take on board as you get up with scraped knees and a mouth full of mud to never repeat again and to take from it constructively what you can and make something positive out of it, so lesson and lives are not wasted. Adult life is full of mistakes and stumbling into problems; it is not about not making them but about learning to deal with them in a constructive and positive way and to use your pain to do something good with. Some regrets you will live forever but they hurt a lot less in the long term when you can use them to save other lives and prevent other accidents, or support others in a comparable situation and help ease their own natural upset. ;)

I'm so sorry for the loss of Pam❤ don't blame yourself. It wasn't your fault you didn't notice the cat. May Pam run free in fields of timothy hay and sit by quiet streams
