I went outside last night to put the carpet tile on the front on the girlies hutch. As I got outside, I heard a chirping sound coming from the hutch. It just sounded like a bird chirping and was such a sweet sound. As I approached the hutch, the noise stopped. I thought it was Eleanor as she was sat in the living area but I'm not sure which girl it was as Eliza was in the dome which is also in the living area.

Do you think I have anything to be worried about?

No - just feel blessed! What a lovely Christmas present from your girls! x)

ahhh how lovely, my pigs dont even bother whheking at me that often :(

Mine never shut up :(|) In fact they're at it in the playpen right now, trying to tell me its vegetable time I think. I've only heard the song once but I was like a proud mother at the school concert :(|)

My Kim has "sung" twice in her almost four and a half years, and it was magical both times. Her sister Katie has never sung, and looked definitely surprised when Kim did it.Kim has the loudest wheek on the planet when food is in the offing !

Montgomery tends to serenade me with a song every now and then. I just love it but got a fright when I first heard it as i didnt have a clue what was going on..

What a beautiful song, I haven't heard a pig sing for years, thank you so much for posting that video. We had a choir once as three of ours sang at the same time, they were all housed separately and once one started the other two followed, we had several other piggies who just watched and listened. The first time I heard it was from a little girl called Diamond and we were quite worried at first as she seemed to be in trance whilst singing, we were not sure whether to let her carry on or try and "wake" her up, Diamond sang several times over her lifetime, I hope that either Lucy or Fluffy will sing for us one day.

AWW that's cute! I think I heard one of mine doing it once from a different room so i have no idea which one it was.

It's identical to a bird though. Funny.

I heard my 2 year old Tommy sing last week (November 2009). I snook up to the hutch and there he was singing his heart out. He soon saw me, smelt or heard me and promptly stopped. His mum and 7 sisters were at the other part of the shed. I think he was bored and wanted to say hello, I`m still here.

It is a pleasure to hear and such a delight. Its only the third time I`ve heard any of my piggies sing since I `rescued` them over 2 years ago.

I never identified the other piggy/s who sang but it may have been Tommy all the time.

There is video of singing pigs somewhere on the web (though not my pigs).

Anders.

Hi Anders, it could have been more than Tommy , once a pig learns , and others hear , they soon follow ,

I’ve usualy found several in my herd caperbal, or willing to sing , and sometimes the pitch and volume changes

but the majority sound like Jellybean my little sow in the video above ,

I have heard three of my pigs sing.

The first time it happened was last autumn. I had just turned the central heating on and thought that the boiler had developed a fault. I was quite spooked when it happened. George the singer was in such a trance and I thought that he might be crying out in alarm at another of my piggies dying. Infact, the other piggy is still alive and although elderly is in perfect health. I am so glad that it is a sign of happiness!
