Last night during our bonding time, I put 11 week old Bandit on my chest. As I lay there petting him he yawned and then made this strange sound I hadn't heard before. It sounded kind of like a cat purring only a little different. His whole body sort of vibrated with it. I googled Guinea pig purrs and watched a video of one doing it, that was the same sound my Bandit was making! I'm so excited! I wasn't expecting this so soon as we've only had him a week as of last night! I can't wait to hear him do it again. Just thinking about it puts a smile on my face! I have completely fallen in love! x)

Aww, that's lovely! I love it when my pigs do that. I call it their 'bruuurrr' noise. Ringo used to do it all the time, but it's a lot more difficult to get a 'brurr' from my other pigs, sadly

Oooooooooo, my little girls do that when they snuggle up round my neck. It's so cute. x) x)

We call it a burrr as well - my Bumble does this all the time now he has two ladies - sometimes wakes me up in the middle of the night doing it - but it can also be quite theraputic.
