hiya ! sorry for no profile photo , I'm new to the forum ( well this is my first post ) :) I'm getting two guinea pigs ( ive had guinea pigs before when I was younger ) but my mum wont let me keep them indoors . now I'm older I realise that I want them to have some time indoors as they cant be living outside with not much interaction . however ive tried for months now but they only thing my mum is allowing me to do is keep them in the house on weekends or bring them inside for handling every day . I don't want to stress them out to much and believe you me I would keep them indoors for ever if I had my own house . I would also just like to say that I have improved there set up after being more experienced and they will be living in a c&c acge with fleece and plenty of space , and of course vegetables daily with plenty of hay . The c&c cages are in a shed so at least there in a form of shelter and insulation . My question is , would these options be could enough and am I a bad owner if I do these options to them ? I don't wont to stress them out but at the same time , I want them to have interaction and some time indoors as they are going to be new and scared . Thank You So much! and I hope you all had a merry Christmas ! xx

Make sure you don't bring your piggies inside for long amounts of time then put them back outside, they could get ill :(

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Piggies don't cope well with extremes of temperature or sudden changes so right now in the UK it would really not be a good idea to bring them indoors for handling and certainly not for the weekend. Personally I would ensure the shed is well insulated and then get yourself a nice chair for the shed so you can spend time with them out there and make sure you are handling them near their home.

If you can heat the shed..oil filled radiators are fantastic. Then bringing them indoors for handling is not an issue. Mine are in a fully insulated and heated shed which is very cozy (arguably warmer than our house sometimes!) They come in regularly and are fine.

Welcome.
My Finn and Lara are indoor piggies. I am in the US in Michigan so I can’t have an outdoor living area as it get pretty cold here.

I wondered where you live. I suppose when people know where you live they can answer better.

Hiya I live in the uk :D

If the shed is heated and insulated it’ll be fine. As others have warned they don’t cope well with sudden temperature increases or decreases.
You are in no way a bad owner

Hello and welcome, enjoy your piggies, they will be fine in the shed, can you turn the radiator off in your bedroom for a couple of hours so you can pet them in your bedroom and pop on a jumper 😝
Photos please if at all possible x
