My guinea pig is about a year old cutest thing his name is Moo. I realized this morning he has this kinda hard white lump coming out of his lower side. He seems so weak and tired and he's breathing fast. He keeps drifting his eyes. he's never done this before but I picked him up to put him on my bed and he just laid down beside me and rested his eyes. he's never done this he's still kinda new got last month, and I'm still new to having guinea pigs. I have two should i remove him from the cage

Hi!

I am very sorry for what has happene but please don't waste any critical time to ask around forums and contact a vet ASAP and speak to them: Emergency, Crisis and Bridging Care until a Vet Appointment

Here is our step-by-step advice re. what you can do for a dying guinea pig, including euthanasia: A Practical and Sensitive Guide to Dying, Terminal Illness and Euthanasia in Guinea Pigs

I did contact my local vet, just waiting to get in but I just wanted at least a small idea of why my Moo doesn't feel good

Can you post a picture, please? Your decription is unfortunately far too vague to make any educated guesses.

I'm sorry to hear your piggy isn't well. We are not able to tell you what might be wrong with your piggy as we cant see your piggy and we aren't vets.
Do let us know how you get on though. I hope everything is ok

Thanks for the update. I guess they gave him Baytril in case of infection via the popped cyst, and maybe Loxicom pain relief? Hope he is back to normal soon!

New update. I took him to the vet yesterday and they said everything was fine, but I woke up and he's passed away.

But initially you said you took him to the vet, they diagnosed a problem, and they gave him meds?
it is very hard to offer advice when your story keeps changing.

I am sorry you lost your guinea pig, but if you have specific questions it is probably best to contact the vet who diagnosed him and discuss the possible complications with them.

how does my story keep changing? I took him to the vet they said he was perfectly fine to go home but he had a cyst and it was causing upper respiratory problems. i went to give him his meds and he passed away

You initially said you took him to the vet and they diagnosed a problem, and then you said you took him to the vet and the vet said he was fine.

What medication was he prescribed, and was the vet experienced in treating guinea pigs?
How did the vet treat the cyst? Did they drain it?
It sounds like the cyst was external external, so I am not clear how that would affect his breathing.

If we had a clearer picture of the problem we could offer more advice, but sadly without a post mortem there really is no way of knowing what caused your piggy to pass.
